Our people kick-off fund-raising challenges for Stand Up To Cancer

29 September 2017

Two grueling challenges hope to raise over £80,000.

Our employees from Liverpool are swapping their offices for a 100-mile hike – but it’s all for a great cause.

Kath Wood and Lisa Cunliffe, are part of a team of 10 colleagues who are tackling the trek in a bid to raise £30,000 for Stand Up To Cancer.

Lisa and Kath will be teaming up with colleagues from around the country, with other employees joining them daily for different stages of the walk.

Kath, a senior sales manager, said: “Like most of us, cancer has touched me personally, losing my lovely Mum just over 16 years ago now, along with some other friends and family who the disease has impacted.

The sponsored walk is one of two major fundraising events organised by our people which they hope will raise a total of £80,000 for Stand Up To Cancer.

Twenty-four hours after the walkers take their first steps, around 130 miles away in Solihull, more than 100 of our people will be getting on their bikes to tackle a 175-mile round trip.

They will be setting off from our offices in Birmingham Business Park for the ride through the picturesque Cotswolds.

Dubbed the Tour de BT 2017, participants of all ages and abilities will be taking part in the three-day cycle ride.

They include Rod Norburn, a senior project manager from Stockport and Neil Brown, an ICT specialist from Warrington.
